This comprehensive series of modules equips LGBTQI community organizers (particularly those in provincial areas) with the knowledge and tools to strengthen their organizations and advocacy efforts. Developed collaboratively through the Building Rainbow Communities project, this resource tackles essential topics in three distinct modules: Educational Seminars; Organizational Development; and Public Policy Engagement for LGBTQI Rights.

This primer introduces GALANG, an organization focused on promoting the rights and well-being of lesbians, bisexual women, and trans men in the Philippines. It explores the organization's history and outlines its broad scope of work.

Ang primer na ito ay nagpapakilala sa GALANG, isang organisasyon na nakatuon sa pagtataguyod ng karapatan at kabutihan ng mga lesbyana, biseksuwal na kababaihan, at trans men sa Pilipinas. Ito ay nagbibigay ng maikling paliwanag ukol sa kasaysayan ng organisasyon at naglalarawan ng kanilang malawak na saklaw ng trabaho.

This primer provides guidance on the handling of cases involving persons with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, as outlined in the Gender Ombud Guidelines. It offers practical advice and strategies for addressing issues related to discrimination, harassment, and other challenges faced by individuals with diverse SOGIESC.

The "HIV, AIDS, and STI 101" deck from the Building Rainbow Communities project empowers participants with fundamental knowledge about HIV, AIDS, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This resource sheds light on the current HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Philippines and equips participants to understand prevention, transmission, and available support systems.

This module is designed to support the creation and success of LGBTQIA+ student organizations. It provides a structured approach based on experiences of national student leaders, offering users the tools and resources needed for member recruitment, goal setting, effective event planning, building positive school relationships, and ensuring long-term organizational sustainability.

The Building Rainbow Communities project's "LGBTQI in Action: Diversity and Inclusion in DRRM" deck equips participants for a more inclusive approach to disaster risk reduction management (DRRM). It explores four key components: Introduction to DRRM; Disaster Mitigation & Preparedness; Disaster Response and Recovery; and championing diversity in DRRM measures through the inclusion of LGBTQI persons.

This primer provides a comprehensive overview of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). It explores these concepts in depth and highlights key insights for promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity.

The Building Rainbow Communities project's "SOGIESC Workshop" deck unpacks the concept of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). This resource explores the experiences of LGBTQI individuals, including the stigma and discrimination they face. 

This two-phase workshop enables employees and management to foster a more inclusive workplace through an in-depth exploration of SOGIESC and its impact on employee well-being and development. Users will gain crucial knowledge to combat stigma and discrimination, while exploring the positive contributions of a diverse and inclusive workforce. The workshop culminates in the development of actionable strategies for creating SOGIESC-responsive policies for the company and for implementing gender-sensitive language and protocols for interacting with clients of diverse SOGIESC.

This primer is a contribution of the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies to critical awareness-raising on SOGIESC. Conceptualized as an introductory text, and using language that is accessible to a wide audience, it provides straightforward definitions and explanations of basic SOGIESC concepts as well as suggestions on the terms to use and avoid.
