CLSU Paruparong Bukid - Central Luzon State University
Hue Belong: Mas Happy Pag May Equality is a coalition-based advocacy initiative led by the CLSU Paruparong Bukid Organization in partnership with the university’s Gender Awareness and Empowerment Committee (GAEC), the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), and Babaylanes, Inc. The project brings together students, faculty, and administrators to strengthen awareness, advocacy, and policy engagement around LGBTQIA+ inclusion within the campus.
Since its launch, the project has focused on equipping student leaders and faculty allies with the knowledge and tools needed to advocate for inclusive spaces in the university. Through discussions, learning sessions, and advocacy initiatives, participants explored issues affecting LGBTQIA+ students while identifying practical steps that the university can take to strengthen protection and support mechanisms. These activities also helped cultivate collaboration among different student organizations and campus offices, contributing to a growing network of allies within CLSU.
The initiative has also created opportunities for dialogue with university leadership. CLSU’s university president and key administrators have expressed strong support for the project and have actively participated in conversations on strengthening institutional policies. In particular, the university administration has begun exploring ways to integrate SOGIESC-specific guidelines within existing policies, including the university’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Code, as part of broader efforts to ensure that campus policies remain responsive to the needs of all students.
